On 14 September, Kol Mezcaleria will open its doors to Athens' Line Bar for a bespoke bar takeover and collaboration focused on Mexican spirit and foraged flavours.
Line is based in a former industrial space in Athens. Drawing inspiration from fermentation, sustainability, and local Greek producers, the bar staff create unique hybrid fermented products and reimagined bar food with a focus on zero-waste. Emphasizing sustainable practices, Line's kitchen reuses excess materials across recipes, showcasing an unorthodox approach to comfort food and beverages, which earned them the no. 12 position in The World's 50 Best Bars in 2023.
The two bar teams, lead by Vasilis Kyritsis of Line and Irene Diaz of Kol Mezcaleria, will immerse themselves in the British wilderness to forage for flavours, ingredients, and inspiration. The resulting collaborative and custom menu will combine each bar's own personal style. The drinks will be made with The Lost Explorer spirits, and a selection of iconic bar snacks such as Kol Mezcaleria's Beef Short Rib Empanada and Totopos with pistachio guacamole will be served as well.
Line Bar takes over the Mezcaleria from 5 to 10.30pm on 14 September.
