The wine lovers of London were shocked when P.Franco rapidly shut up shop earlier in the year. The group that owned the bar, as well as nearby venue Bright, and Noble Fine Liquor, collapsed, meaning its entire estate was closed down. We then told you about a crowdfunding campaign launched by the manager at P.Franco, Will Gee, to buy new equipment and stock, pay rent, and carry out repairs so that the venue could rise again from the ashes.

The good news is that the campaign hit its £10,000 target in just three days and raised a grand total of £19,625 from 305 backers. With this funding, the venue aims to reopen in the middle of June. A new alcohol license application for the venue is currently being considered and work will begin in the meantime to get the venue back ready to open.

Whether there's any hope of Bright returning to Hackney remains to be seen, but wine lovers in London can be satisfied that one much-loved venue is soon going to be back on the scene.
