London's pizza fans were shocked when Pizza East's two branches shut up shop recently with little explanation. Whilst the West London location was closed permanently, owner Soho House said that the closure in Shoreditch would be temporary, but there was no information about how long it would be closed for. The good news is that the restaurant will be back on 15th March with a new owner and refreshed menu.

Everyone's favourite sweary Scottish chef, Gordon Ramsay, acquired the restaurant and the Pizza East brand through his restaurant group, Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, which already operates multiple restaurants in the capital, including his own pizza chain. This is the first time that the group has acquired a pre-existing restaurant brand.

The reopened Pizza East will be positioned as an elevated counterpoint to his existing pizza restaurants, Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza. New dishes on the menu will include Italian-American favourite rigatoni a la vodka and a pizza with spicy 'nduja and honey.
