12th May sees the return of the Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival. This free annual event takes place in the garden of St Paul's Church, close to where Samuel Pepys first recorded spotting Mr Punch of Punch & Judy fame in May 1662.

Lots of puppet-themed activities take place as part of the event, beginning with a procession through the area lead by the Superior Brass Band. Then there will be a special church service featuring Mr Punch. Added to that there will be puppet shows, workshops, stalls, folk music, and seasonal maypole dancing. Local community groups and Punch & Judy experts from all over the country will be here for this exciting family event.
