On 30 October 1974 in Zaire, George Foreman and Muhammad Ali, two of the greatest boxers in history battled it out in an epic fight for the title of heavyweight champion of the world. Almost 50 years later, you'll be able to relive that night in a one-of-a-kind immersive experience in London.
Organised by Rematch, a company that previously brought to life the legendary 1980 Wimbledon Championships final between John McEnroe and Björn Borg, the Rumble in the Jungle will transport visitors even further back in time and all the way to Kinshasa. The multi-sensory theatrical experience aims to immerse visitors in 1974 Zaire will the help of a cast of characters, detailed costumes and sets, local food and music, and other entertainment.
Rocking up to the Dock X event space in Canada Water, visitors will first be able to explore Kinshasa, attend the fighters' press conference, grab some Congolese food and drinks, dance to live American, African, and Latin music in a recreation of the festival that accompanied the bout, and generally have a good time. Then it's time for the main act, a carefully designed re-enactment of the title fight between Ali and Foreman using precise choreography, physical theatre, video projections, and original music. Afterwards, it's back to the partying with songs from the biggest global acts in Black music.
The Rumble in the Jungle Rematch immersive experience officially debuts on 14 September for a limited time only, with tickets starting at £69.50 for adults and £38.50 for children.
