Londoners have an exciting opportunity to see a groundbreaking exhibition this summer. East London gallery D'Stassi Art is presenting the first-ever UK solo exhibition from French artist, activist, and reformed convict Didier Chamizo. The show opens on 7th June and will run until 28th June.

Chamizo left school at the age of 13 and pursued his passion for art through evening classes. He became a prominent activist in the 1960s and was imprisoned multiple times, later receiving an official pardon from the former President of France. His vivid paintings on a range of themes have gained international acclaim but he rarely gives interviews or makes public appearances.

“Rebel Soul”, the new exhibition at D'Stassi Art, will give London art lovers an exciting opportunity to see his vibrant work for themselves. The show will include 19 figurative portraits as well as a custom Harley Davidson that's been hand-painted by Chamizo in his distinctive signature style. Check out the D'Stassi Art website to find out more about this upcoming exhibition.
