Considered the most prestigious award for the Nordic bar industry, the Bartenders' Choice Awards recognise excellence in the cocktail industry primarily in the Nordic region, but cast their gaze further afield as well. At this year's awards, held in Copenhagen on 18 March, more than 500 industry professionals voted Tayēr + Elementary the Best International Cocktail Bar.

The renowned Shoreditch bar is no stranger to acclaim, as it regularly ranks on the lists of the best bars in the world. It still had to beat off stiff competition to take home the prize at the BCAs, however, with other nominees including New York City's Double Chicken Please, Berlin's Wax On, and Paradiso and Sips, both from Barcelona. As for the local region, the best cocktail bars according to the BCAs are Bird (Denmark), Bardem (Finland), Amma Don (Iceland), Svanen (Norway), and Röda Huset (Sweden).

You can find out more about the BCAs here. Congratulations to all the winners!
