The continued existence of one of London's most unique museums was up in the air for a while, but thanks to overwhelming support from the community, the Vagina Museum is ready to reopen.

The Vagina Museum was originally founded in 2017 with the aim of combatting stigma regarding the gynaecological anatomy – as well as bringing balance to a world that had only a penis museum in Iceland up to that point. At first, the Vagina Museum was more of a pop-up affair, before later finding different temporary spots. Its search for a permanent location nearly proved fruitless, but thanks to community support – an appeal by the museum in 2023 raised £90,000 to facilitate the move, it's ready to reopen at last.

The Vagina Museum will relaunch at its new permanent location in Bethnal Green on 4 November with an exhibition titled “Endometriosis: Into the Unknown”, delving into the facts and fiction surrounding the life-altering condition. Ahead of the opening, the museum will also host a clearance sale in the new museum shop on 14 and 15 October, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Stop by to get your hands on some Vagina Museum merch at bargain prices.
