Held every September for ten days, the largest history and culture festival in the UK brings together thousands of local volunteers and organisations. Communities across the country come together to celebrate heritage, share stories, and explore traditions, offering a unique chance to access hidden places and try new experiences.

In London, the Heritage Open Days programme includes a wide assortment of events, ranging from guided tours of secret areas, an obstacle course race, peeks behind the doors of historic buildings it's otherwise hard to get access to, gaming workshops, nature walks, pond dipping, museum lates, artist talks, heritage bus rides, and much more. Best of all, it's all free!

Heritage Open Days 2024 take place from 6 to 15 September. Visit their website to discover the full programme and plan your outings.
