Prepare for cuteness overload as “Cute”, a major new exhibition launching on 25 January at Somerset House, delves into the role and increasing prominence of cuteness in present-day culture.

Bringing together contemporary artworks by acclaimed artists and a whole range of cultural phenomena, from music and fashion to toys and emojis, “Cute” is a wide-ranging show examining just how and why contemporary culture has adopted the cult of the cute. It features a wide array of artists delving into the subject, whether it's Turner Prize-winning artist Mark Leckey or rising hyperpop musician Hannah Diamond, seeking to unravel the complexities and power behind cuteness today – and yes, make you go “aww.”

In addition to the main exhibition, “Cute” will include a games arcade suitable for all ages, as well as shine a spotlight on the 50th anniversary of the iconic Hello Kitty brand, one of the original ambassadors of cuteness.

“Cute” is on at Somerset House from 25 January to 14 April 2024. Find out more and book tickets here.
