Hot cross buns are a beloved staple of the Easter season, but while the spiced treats have a very pleasant flavour, we wouldn't exactly call them decadent. That's about to change thanks to Din Tai Fung.

The acclaimed Chinese restaurant group is introducing a luxurious twist on the classic Good Friday treat this year – the chocolate lava hot cross bun. Skilfully crafted by Din Tai Fung's dim sum chefs, the fluffy, hand-rolled bun is filled with a chocolate lava centre made with 66% cocoa molten goodness. As a reminder, the Din Tai Fung restaurants are famed for their meticulous approach to their signature xiaolongbao, with the paper-thin wrapping of each dumpling having exactly 18 delicate folds every time, so you can expect a very high level of hot cross bun craftsmanship.

The chocolate lava hot cross buns are exclusively available at all Din Tai Fung branches in London from 22 March to 7 April.
