If Shoreditch were to be defined by a restaurant, it would be Leroy. Everything from the logo to the minimalist approach oozes the trendy East End. It's all about simplicity at this contemporary spot in EC2; the menu is unfussy, focusing on small plates with flavour, and there's an eclectic list of wines curated by the in-house sommelier.
After opening in 2018, Leroy went on to earn a Michelin star in 2019, which it held until 2024. Chef Simon Shand has continued curating a menu of minimal dishes that focus predominantly on flavours, like rabbit ravioli with wild mushrooms and sweetcorn and figs with mozzarella and prosciutto. The sommelier is always on hand to offer expertise regarding wines to accompany your chosen plates. The list is diverse, ranging from classic bottles to more far-out selections.
Should you leave room for dessert (which you absolutely should), you'll get to choose from a refined selection of sweet treats. The menu changes regularly, but previous menus have included strawberry and plum pavlova and chocolate with hazelnuts and milk ice cream. Unfussy, tempting and delicious.
