You can order patriotic beer from the city's microbreweries by the bottle, and there's a delightful neighbourhood restaurant atmosphere. 

This completely vegetarian has been on a corner spot close to Kungstorget for many years. Come for lunch or dinner in the form of a buffet with vegetarian and vegan dishes from all corners of the world. Choose from hot dishes, various soups and a substantial salad buffet. If you're just a little peckish, you can just order soup, which is served with home-baked bread.

All the vegetarian food served in the restaurant here is prepared in a spirit of devotion, according to the teachings of the Hare Krishna movement. When the food is ready, some is first offered to Krishna, before guests can tuck in. The restaurant, which is open for lunch, is light and harmonious. Brewers Beer Bar is a popular watering hole for beer aficionados, as well as vegetarians and vegans in the mood for pizza - as well as the large group of people who cover both these bases. There's a generous vegetarian/vegan menu of artisanal sourdough pizzas with imaginative toppings. 

Skeppet isn't just a place for live performances and events, it also houses a veg-focused restaurant with a strong sustainability focus. The menu is influenced by Palestinian cuisine and lists only vegetarian and vegan dishes, largely made from organic ingredients. If you want to wash down the food with something tasty, there's a well-stocked selection of natural wines and quality beers. 

Luckily, Vietnamese cuisine has masses to offer the vegetarian. Spring rolls, noodle soup, pancakes and stir-fries are just a few of the vegetarian dishes that can be enjoyed onboard the Vietnamese restaurant boat Floating Saigon. Dirty Records combines a record shop with bar and bistro in a homely and inviting atmosphere. Music fans (or just hungry people) can enjoy a delicious, completely vegetarian lunch or dinner here. The menu has Continental influences and includes, among other things, small tapas dishes, pasta and a wide selection of cheeses. There's also an exciting wine list.

The kitchen, which works constantly to ensure the restaurant is environmentally-friendly, using seasonal and local ingredients, is all about consciousness and artistic freedom. There are always plenty of vegetarian alternatives on the à la carte menu, and naturally you can order vegetarian versions of the three-course tasting menu. 

Hagabion cinema serves up much more than arthouse movies. The restaurant, with a charmingly small bar downstairs, is popular and known for its tasty food. We know Vi Viet isn't a fully vegetarian restaurant, but in line with Vietnamese culinary traditions, many of the dishes served are plant-based or can be prepared with tofu instead of meat. Their friendly staff will gladly guide you through the menu, which is characterised by well-balanced and subtle flavours such as lime, lemongrass, and fresh herbs. 

The speciality at Humus Hus is exactly what you'd imagine – hummus. It's made from a secret family recipe and can be enjoyed on its own, with sides, or in juicy falafel dishes. Just as good for a relaxed lunch or dinner as for takeaway.

The team at Ramen-Ya specialise in - you guessed it - ramen, Japanese noodle soup, with plenty of authentic and reasonably-priced dishes on the menu. The carefully prepared noodles can always be made vegetarian or completely vegan for anyone who wants to eat plant-based. Try pairing your food with a little sake. 

Pustervik needs no further introduction among Gothenburg's culture vultures. You'll find one of the city's most dynamic music scenes here, and you'll find everything from club nights to food under one roof. Food-wise they serve a simple menu with large and smaller dishes with flavours from all over the world.
