Where to watch the FIFA World Cup in Gothenburg

Gear up for weeks of great vibes on Viktoriagatan, with ice-cold beer, German food and plenty of football chat. All major matches are being shown on the big screen and you're warmly welcome whether you support Sweden, Germany or any other team. Table booking is recommended, but it's also fine to drop in as space allows.

As true sports fans, Glenn will obviously be showing plenty of matches during the football World Cup at their sports bars, which are found at three different addresses in Gothenburg. Exactly which matches are shown varies a little between the branches, so it's safest to double-check the schedule before you go there. But Glenn Ullevi will be showing all the matches - the sports bar is Gothenburg's official World Cup arena, with two large outdoor screens, 16 screens indoors, five bars and a merch shop. Whichever bar you end up in, you can count on really nice pub atmosphere, decent burgers and good beers. 

Usually it's e-sports in focus at Kappa Bar, but during the World Cup they make an exception and show all the matches played during normal opening hours, and of course also the Sweden matches that are played at night. Football is best experienced together with others, preferably with something tasty in your glass and a bit of street food on your table. Just come here and get ready for a few fun hours of goals, misses, cheers, sadness and nerves together with other people who also get it.

Why not combine watching the sport with your own activity and turn it into an all-evening event? At Nordic Sportsbar you can both watch the Football World Cup and enjoy bowling, shuffleboard and gaming, and of course also eat American classics like burgers and steaks. In Nefertiti's inner courtyard, there'll be plenty of summery vibes during the World Cup. The whole place will turn into a blue-and-yellow party with food and drink, activities and competitions – and naturally the matches will be shown on a big screen (with sound!). There's plenty of seating and standing room, but it can still pay to arrive early, as this hangout is sure to be popular this summer.

Some of Gothenburg's biggest football fans can be found at Olivedal, among both the restaurant team and  the guests. Naturally, many of the World Cup matches will be shown, including Sweden's showdowns with the Netherlands and Japan, though not the match against Tunisia. The restaurant has custom-built booth-seats where you have your very own screen – perfect if you want to watch with others but avoid crowds and poor sightlines. Pair with meatballs, a charcuterie board or something else delicious from the à la carte menu.

At Pitcher's in Majorna you can cheer along together with other football enthusiasts, settled into a comfy leather sofa with a glass of frothy beer in hand. The team's heart beats a little stronger for gastronomy here, and the menu features well-made pub dishes, grilled items and plenty of vegetarian options. If you want to mix the football World Cup with a bit of your own activity during the break, you can take your friends to Pitcher's game room, where you can play both basketball and shuffleboard.

There's always something going on on Foxes' programme, from live sport to quizzes and, naturally, summer 2026 will be devoted to the football World Cup. People from across Gothenburg gather to cheer on their team together here, particularly on the sun-kissed outdoor terrace. If you want to top up your energy reserves, you can get everything from pizza and burgers to salads and snacks.

What could be more Gothenburg than watching the World Cup at Ullevi? During the tournament, Ullevi Plaza and Ullevi open up to show Sweden's matches as well as the final on a big screen. There will also be entertainment, activities, and food and drink for sale. All with free entry! Expect an extraordinary atmosphere, plenty of celebrations, and genuine love of sport.

Moreno Pizza throws a real party for the people when the World Cup kicks off, where everyone is welcome whether you're a football fanatic or just want to experience the atmosphere. If you want to watch the World Cup in the middle of Avenyn, you can make your way to Grace, which across its three floors has plenty of space for fans who want to cheer on their team together. As well as sport, they're passionate about flavours and offer a menu with favourites from Italy, America and Europe, as well as exciting signature cocktails, wine and beer. They'll ve broadcasting Sweden's matches against the Netherlands and Japan, but not Tunisia. Other World Cup matches played during Grace's opening hours are also shown on the screens.

John Scott's Palace is a popular gathering place for sports fans who want to cheer on their team together in stylish surroundings something one certainly does even during the football World Cup. They show as many matches as possible and the match schedule is updated regularly.
