"The Gentlemen's Club," a hit production from India, makes its international debut in London this October through a collaboration between Soho Theatre and Mumbai's National Centre for Performing Arts.

Set in a fictional club, the show features women embodying masculinity, led by Drag King Rocky, a character inspired by Bollywood's golden era legend Shammi Kapoor and performed by Puja Sarup. Originally produced in 2015 by LGBTQIA+ group Gaysi Family, the show toured India while Section 377, a law criminalising queer identities, was still in place. This updated version combines provocative storytelling with drag performances, offering a fresh Indian perspective on gender and identity.

Showcasing Mumbai's underground club scene with a focus on gender fluidity and queer performance, the production brings together frivolity, dance, music and visual projection. It's on for a limited time at Soho Theatre, and you can book tickets here.
