British Restaurant Awards 2024: Here are this year's winners

Each year, the prestigious British Restaurant Awards honour excellence in the country's contemporary dining scene. Awarded based on public votes, the BRAs cover a wide range of categories, with the winners revealed at a gala ceremony at The Crown Hotel in London on 28 August.

This year, a bunch of awards went to London restaurants – here's the full list of winners you can visit without leaving the capital:

• Best Luxury Restaurant: Penelope's
• Restaurant of the Year: Happy London
• Best Restaurant Chain: Thai Square
• Best Takeaway Restaurant: Chamisse
• Best Restaurant in London: Sumosan Twiga
• Best Bar: Archer Street Soho
• Best International Cuisine: Thai Square
• Best Vegan-friendly Restaurant: Farmacy (currently closed while they relocate)

The 2024 British Restaurant Awards showed some love for Manchester as well, with a couple of the awards going north:

• Best Culinary Experience: Peter Street Kitchen
• Best Restaurant in Manchester: 20 Stories
