Crosstown and John Whaite bake rainbow doughnut for PRIDE with donations to akt charity

For PRIDE 2024, Crosstown has partnered with British chef, author, and TV presenter John Whaite to create their first-ever PRIDE flavour. Together, they have created the Passion Fruit & Coconut Rainbow Scroll, and for every one sold, 50p will be donated to akt, a charity supporting LGBTQIA+ young people at risk of homelessness.

The Passion Fruit & Coconut Rainbow Scroll is made of turmeric, beetroot, and blue spirulina vegan sourdough rolled into a colourful rainbow centre. It's filled with citrusy passion fruit custard, topped with a coconut glaze, and sprinkled with desiccated coconut and edible flowers.

The doughnut is available from 25th June and can be purchased individually (£6.25) at all Crosstown stores or ordered for collection and on-demand delivery. It will also be available in a PRIDE six-pack (£30.95) for collection from Crosstown stores or delivery nationwide across England, Wales, and lowland Scotland.

John Whaite expressed his excitement about the collaboration, highlighting the importance of social purpose and the impact of raising funds for akt. Crosstown CEO Howard Ebison echoed this, emphasising the company's commitment to celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and supporting the LGBTQIA+ community.
