Blink and you'll miss it, but for five days in the middle of August, Carousel in Fitzrovia will host one of the most exciting young chefs right now, right before he opens his first solo restaurant in Asia.

Esca Khoo is an acclaimed Borneo-born Australian who has honed his skills under the likes of international masters such as René Redzepi, Heston Blumenthal and Andre Chiang. Before he launches his first permanent solo venture in Asia, he's been travelling the world and putting in the work as a guest chef, and it's this odyssey that will bring him to Fitzrovia's popular wine bar and pop-up space Carousel in August.

In his cooking, Khoo playfully strives to reimagine familiar Asian cuisine with his “half my life in Australia and half my life in Malaysia” culinary approach. The set menu served during his Carousel residency will thus feature dishes such as Grilled Beef Satay and Kalimantan Chicken Bakar Cincane. As Khoo will be in London only a short time, from 15 to 19 August, best get booking here.
