Belvedere, a famed restaurant in the middle of Kensington’s Holland Park, has announced its reopening. The new old restaurant will serve Mediterranean flavours inspired by Southern Italy, with one of its main draws remaining the gorgeously sun-drenched venue.
The original building where Belvedere is located dates back to the 1600s, transforming from expensive stables to a trendy manor over the centuries. During its history, the so-called Holland House was frequented by illustrious patrons such as King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, Noël Coward and Charles Dickens, not to mention some of the most prominent political figures of the 19th century. Sadly, the house was bombed out during the Blitz, with only the ballroom surviving. Later it was converted into a restaurant, which has now announced it will be reopening.
Belvedere boasts splendid views of the surrounding parkland, as well as rich Tuscan interiors, a balcony for al fresco dining, and a private dining room. The changing menu will feature snazzy takes on classic Italian fare, for example paccheri pasta with white fish & saffron, or pizza with pear & gorgonzola.
Belvedere opens November 10, 2022, and is already taking bookings here.
