Do androids dream of electric sheep? Does Jamie Oliver dream of pasta? We can now say with certainty that the answer to at least one of those questions is “yes”. The famed chef is collaborating with digital restaurant platform Taster for a series of pasta joint pop-ups called Pasta Dreams. He has dreamed up a menu of Italian-inspired dishes that will be available at the first two launched pop-up sites, in Soho and in Paris.
The dreamy pasta delicacies at these temporary pop-ups include offerings such as garlic bread, vodka arrabbiata casarecce, agnolotti stuffed with beef and chianti, or an epic margherita gnocchi bake, as well as Jamie’s favourite – cacio x carbonara casarecce. After choosing your pasta, you can also add toppings such as basil pesto, parmesan or Stracciatella to your heart’s alarm, and there’s a classic tiramisu to top it all off as well.
The current pop-ups will be open until 1 January 2023 and are takeaway or delivery only. More appear to be in the works already, however, as Oliver and Taster will be running a competition in early 2023, with the winning “dreamer” getting to work with Oliver’s development team and create seasonal special to feature on the delivery menu. Furthermore, £1 from the sale of each special dish will be donated to the Springboard charity for young people in hospitality.
