The Young V&A's upcoming exhibition, Making Egypt, explores the creative legacy of Ancient Egypt and its lasting impact on contemporary culture.
It includes over 200 items from the V&A archives, many of which have never been displayed before, spanning a whopping 5,500 years of history. Highlights include the intricately painted inner sarcophagus of Princess Sopdet-em-haawt, alongside a look at how Egyptian design continues to influence modern media, from 'Minecraft' to 'Moon Knight'.
Alongside these stunning artifacts, the exhibition will showcase new films that dive deep into the techniques of Ancient Egyptian art. For younger visitors, there will also be interactive activities such as drawing with scale, deciphering hieroglyphics, and designing personal amulets.
