Mark International Day of Peace at Shakespeare's Globe

Riverside theatre Shakespeare's Globe is naturally best-known for its productions of Shakespeare plays, but that's not the only kind of performance you can see here. On 24th September the theatre's Sam Wanamaker Playhouse for intimate event 'Words of Peace.' Hosted by acclaimed actor Mark Rylance, this is a one-night summit of non-violence.

Held to commemorate International Day of Peace, the event brings together actors, musicians, and artists in celebration of peace. This candlelit event involves music, poetry, and prose, with all profits donated to UNESCO and UNHCR. It all takes place in a unique and atmospheric theatre in the heart of the capital.
