Meatopia 2023 turns the heat up, announces first 50 participating chefs

Meatopia, an annual bacchanalia celebrating all things meat, fire, and smoke, has revealed the first 50 chefs who will be participating in the four-day feastivities.

From 31 August to 3 September, the Tobacco Dock venue will be enveloped in clouds of smoke, the smell of sizzling meat, and the heat coming off from the fire pits and grills. The four-day festival is a carnivore's paradise, bringing together chefs from some of the most acclaimed culinary establishments in the country and beyond to show off their live-fire cooking skills and serve up all sorts of delicious meaty delights. There's food, there's drinks, there's brass bands roaming the area – it's indulgent, fun, and decidedly non-veggie.

In its tenth year, Meatopia has revealed the first 50 chefs who'll be firing up their grills this year, from promising new talent to returning veterans. Some of the London-based chefs announced so far include Robert Trif and Ronity Rana of Le Bab, Nirmal Save of Gunpowder, Tom Browne of Decatur, Roberto Costa of Macellaio RC, Harneet Baweja of Empire Empire, Christos Karetsos and and Paco Diaz of Ottolenghi, and Zan Kaufman of Bleecker Burger. Meatopia takes place from Thursday, 31 August, to Sunday, 3 September, at Tobacco Dock. You can get more info and tickets here.
