MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences Presents: LMS Gene Home Pop Up in Celebration of Black History Month

In Celebration of Black History Month MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences have created the LMS Gene Home Pop Up at Westfield White City. The week-long pop-up will feature a diverse array of talks, workshops, and free NHS health MOT check-ups, meticulously tailored for the Black community. The upcoming pop-up event promises to be a captivating blend of entertainment, enlightenment, and empowerment.

Kicking off with a music-filled launch party, guests will be treated to the comedic stylings of Rudi Lickwood, with music provided by Terrortone setting the perfect backdrop. As the week progresses, attendees can immerse themselves in a myriad of activities. Noteworthy inclusions are readings by the talented Michael De Souza, renowned for creating the beloved Rastamouse character. Attendees will have multiple opportunities to glean insights from engaging health talks tailored for both men and women. The Hello Love team, with their trailblazing LIBRA virtual Health Assistant, will be making their mark, offering a fresh perspective on wellness. Wednesday is poised to be a celebration of brilliance with the SiSTEM Takeover, culminating in an exclusive evening event honouring Black women in the STEM field. Comedy lovers will be in for a treat on Thursday evening with a hilarious Science Show Off comedy segment. To round off the week, the spotlight will shine on the multifaceted Yasmin Nicholas with her unique blend of poetry and painting.

In addition, holistic therapy enthusiasts can partake in a soul-soothing Gong Bath orchestrated by the intuitive healer, Cathy Edgar. The combination of art, culture, health, and well-being themes ensures there's something for everyone, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
