The sad news is that Plum + Spilt Milk has gone away but the good news is that it hasn’t totally disappeared. Following a rebranding and refurbishment, the venue is now known as Rails Restaurant and Little Bar. The name is a nod to its proximity to King’s Cross St Pancras and the French-influenced modern British cooking on offer acknowledges the Eurostar terminal nearby.

The goal of the refurbishment and rebranding is to create a unique identity that’s truly international, appealing to the global crowd that’s naturally found in the area thanks to its transport links. The quality and provenance of ingredients, as well as accessible dishes, are also top priorities.

The newly-designed menu includes moules frites, seared Cornish cod, and baked St Marcelin with truffle honey. There’s also a grill section, with the offering depending on the meat available each day. The 80-seater restaurant also has a separate bar area, previously known as The Snug and now known as Little Bar. Rails will be welcoming new customers to its new space, as well as loyal fans.
