Positions 51-100 of The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2023 have been announced and three London eateries have made an appearance. The highest ranking restaurant in the city was Brat, placed at number 53. Female-led fine dining spot Core by Clare Smyth came in at number 71 whilst Lyle's in Shoreditch reached number 86.

Along with Mexican fine dining restaurant Kol, Lyle's and Brat made the list last year. With Kol being notably absent from positions 51-100, it's fuelling speculation that it'll be crowned one of the 50 best restaurants. We'll have to wait until 20th June to find out, when the top 50 spots will be unveiled at an awards ceremony in Valencia.

The high profile list is put together each year based on independent votes from 1,080 authorities on gastronomy. Vote-casters range from renowned chefs to top food journalists and travelling foodies. With three impressive entries from London on the longlist, we don't have much longer to wait to find out if any further restaurants in the capital made the cut.
