Heddon Street’s Sarap Filipino Bistro is the ideal place in London to try out authentic flavours from the Philippines. Chef Ferdinand 'Budgie' Montoya, the man behind the restaurant, has now announced that the restaurant will be relocating to foodie paradise Kingly Court in 2023. In November the chef announced that the restaurant would begin crowdfunding to finance a relocation, with the campaign due to kick off on 12th December. It’s not yet known how much money Montoya intends to raise.

Starting out as an informal supper club in 2017, and a way to reconnect with Montoya’s Filipino roots, the campaign and change of premises marks the next phase in Sarap’s evolution. The current refined restaurant in Heddon Street is a year-long residency, but the move to Kingly Court will give Sarap a permanent London base.

The new restaurant will represent a middle ground between the casual original supper club and the current sophisticated venue. The new restaurant will seat 45 guests in the main dining room, plus a further six guests at the bar. The interiors will be intentionally simple with an industrial style, whilst the menu will continue to focus on classic Filipino recipes. The crowdfunding campaign to support the move will run on the Seedrs platform, but further details are yet to be announced.
