Tamila Hackney Bridge
For fragrant curries, flavour-packed South Indian fare and freshly-made, flakey, buttery roti for dipping, dunking and mopping, head to Tamila in Hackney Bridge. This street food venture is your one-stop shop for all things curry, best served with one of their warm, just-made rotis and an onion bhaji. Opt for the chicken curry if you want to try their best seller, or keep it veggie with a paneer butter masala. They also serve banging spicy mutton or channa masala for something a little different. The stall is located inside Hackney Bridge, home to some of East London's best street food vendors, bars, cafes, local independent retailers, workspaces, studios and event spaces with ample outside seating overlooking the narrowboat-lined canal.
I think this might be the best curry in London (big statement, I know). It's a sister stall of The Tamil Prince and The Tamil Crown, so makes sense. Always get the mutton with a roti 🤌 Also, they do £7.50 curry nights on Tuesday, where you can get rice, poppadoms and a curry for £7.50! Barrrrg.
