Me and my daughter had booked a whole day at Skepparholmen spa. We thought the location was nice with nice surroundings. Perfectly ok indoor and outdoor swimming pool and a large sauna with nice views. What wasn't good was the massage. My daughter took classic massage and I took aroma massage, we were both very disappointed. The male masseur was under all the criticism, he didn't know how to do it. The thing is that we have both previously been to many different spas and both know how to feel a serious massage or aroma massage.
What he did basically was scratch his back a little bit, he did no traditional, classic far-reaching sweeping massage moves with his hands, as is customary. I felt right from the start that it wasn't normal but waited because I was always hoping it would get better. Me and my daughter had been looking forward to this day and wanted it so badly to be good. But the hour that I thought I was going to get really relaxed on, instead gave the opposite effect, I wasn't relaxed for a second. When the session was over I would tell him that this was not a massage but unfortunately did not get a jam in the weather so I raised the matter at the reception instead. My daughter who booked a classic massage said it was like no massage, mostly as if a child sporadically killed you a little on the skin. She told me about sore points she wanted extra treatment on, with no results.
The reception was very accommodating and took all our details, including copy of receipt. He promised that the spa manager would get in touch with us on Monday. She didn't, so I emailed her on Tuesday and told her we wanted a refund on the massage treatments. Then she came back and regretted what had happened, but at the same time made it very clear that we will receive no compensation whatsoever. The spirit of the email was that it was us that was wrong. We as customers would have had the wrong experience and acted wrongly. You're in a pretty vulnerable position when you're lying almost naked on a massage parlor...
So feel free to go to Skepparholmen spa but for God's sake take no massage, it is to throw the money in the lake. And don't complain about anything that's broken or doesn't work - because it will make the spa device think is your own fault.
