A major Wes Anderson exhibition is coming to the Design Museum in 2025

It might be some way off still, but judging by the response to the “Accidentally Wes Anderson” exhibition, not to mention his movies, Londoners can't get enough of the imaginative director's striking worlds.

In November 2025, the Design Museum will launch the first retrospective exhibition focused on acclaimed film director Wes Anderson, whose signature quirky style – colourful sets and costumes, recurring motifs, memorable characters, symmetrical shots, and other signature Wesisms – has won him admirers all over the world.

For the first time ever, visitors will be able to dive into the craftsmanship of the man behind modern classics such as “The Royal Tenenbaums”, “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou”, and “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. “Wes Anderson: The Exhibition” will showcase the evolution of the director's whimsical style through a curated collection of original props, costumes, and behind-the-scenes looks at the making of his films, complete with items from his personal collection.

The exhibition will be at the Design Museum from 21 November 2025 to 4 May 2026. Tickets will go on sale in 2025 – you can sign up for the Design Museum newsletter here to learn when they'll be released.
