In late October, Battersea Power Station is marking one year since reopening as a popular leisure destination in South London. To commemorate the occasion, the iconic brick building is throwing a nine-day festival that delves deep into its history.
Taking place from 21 to 29 October, the Behind The Bricks festival features various 1930s- and 1950s-themed activities and offers that recall the decades when the landmark building's two halves were completed. For example, you'll be able to pamper yourself at a 1950s hair and beauty salon.
In addition, the historic Grade II-listed structure will be launching official guided tours providing detailed information on its history, construction, and renovation, including the chance to visit the restored Art Deco Control Room A for the first time. In addition, there will be expert panel talks, heritage trails, children's workshops, live music, storytelling sessions, and more, along with the Battersea Power Station's usual array of shops, restaurants, and activities.
