All eight of Britain's three-Michelin-starred chefs are joining forces for an exclusive charity dinner in London.
Bocuse d'Or UK is bringing together eight chefs whose restaurants in Britain each boast three Michelin stars for a black-tie gala aiming to raise funds for The Cancer Awareness Trust, as well as for the chefs representing the UK in the prestigious Bocuse d'Or live cooking competition. The kitchen line-up will be as follows:
- Clare Smyth, Core by Clare Smyth and president of Bocuse d'Or UK Academy
- Alain Roux, The Waterside Inn
- Daniel Stucki, The Lecture Room & Library at sketch
- Edward Cooke, The Fat Duck
- Jean-Philippe Blondet, Alain Ducasse at The Dorchester
- Marco Zampese, Hélène Darroze at The Connaught
- Matt Abé, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay
- Simon Rogan, L'Enclume
Each of the chefs will be in charge of one of the courses on the night, which will also feature star-studded entertainment and a live auction. Proceeds from the event will give the young chefs on the Bocuse d'Or UK team the best chance of achieving gold in the so-called culinary Olympics. Money raised on the night will also go towards a nutritionist working with Bocuse d'Or UK and The Cancer Awareness Trust to educate chefs about the importance of nutrition for those living with cancer.
Tickets for such a once-in-a-lifetime event don't come cheap, of course. They're priced at £1,500, though if you break that down it comes to less than £190 per three-starred chef - arguably significantly less than a night out at their individual restaurants.
The Bocuse d'Or UK gala will be held at the new Raffles London at The OWO hotel on 22 January. You can find out more about it and secure your spot here.
