Chef Björn Frantzén, currently sitting in 25th place on the list of the World’s Best Restaurants with his eponymous Stockholm flagship, will be launching a new London restaurant at the Harrods department store towards the end of November.
At his Swedish headquarters, Frantzén developed a unique culinary hybrid that combines local Nordic tradition with Asian influences in signature dishes such as tartare of tuna and red deer, Vendace roe from Kalix, white kombu, wasabi infused cultured cream, fermented Mirabelle plum and warm ginger butter. The restaurant was the first in Sweden to receive three Michelin stars, and the chef also has successful ventures elsewhere around the world, for example his other three Michelin-starred restaurant, Zen, in Singapore.
With his new opening at Harrods, Studio Frantzén, the Swedish maestro is returning to the city where he trained earlier in his career. The swanky new venue will be located in a custom-built area within the store and span two floors. The Scandi-designed venue will feature a restaurant, bar and the first rooftop terrace at Harrods. Expect the menu to be comprised of familiar Frantzén dishes, as well as twists on British classics, for example sticky toffee pudding with miso caramel, bourbon, sesame ice cream and candied pecans.
Studio Frantzén is set to open at Harrods on November 28, 2022.
