See the Gingerbread City exhibition at the Museum of Architecture

For Christmas this year, leading architects and designers are ditching their standard building materials for something a little tastier. They've been assigned the task of building more than 70 gingerbread buildings for the annual Gingerbread City exhibition at the Museum of Architecture.

Architects were challenged to craft mini-cities in one of five different climate zones: Polar, Continental, Temperate, Dry and Tropical, as a way to get architects thinking about why we need to change our thinking about how we build around the world.

From sugarcoated houses and doughy train stations to markets, schools, parks and more, they make up an impressive little biscuit city – just try not to take a nibble as you walk around.

You can purchase an exhibition-only ticket, or they also have the option to purchase a ticket which allows you to participate in building your own gingerbread house afterwards.

The exhibition is running until 7 Jan.
