Uncover 3,500 years of Black History in London on a Black History Walk

Throughout the year, the dedicated team at Black History Walk offers educating guided walking tours across the city that focus on areas selected for their importance in Black History.

Your expert guide will delve into topics spanning architecture, freedom, slavery, and much more as you explore London's diverse history. For instance, the Hackney Black History Walk on October 1 focuses on the impact of the 70 years since the arrival of the SS Windrush from the Caribbean. Another walk on October 29, the "Image of the Black in Tate Britain", aims to dissect the role of Black presence in British art. If you don't have time to go on a physical walk, they are also hosting "Trapped between Worlds by White Body Snatchers", a free online event that discusses the harmful racial theories of inferiority and eugenics that violated Black families by appropriating their bodies for "scientific experiments."
