Creating fully immersive experiences with detailed sets and themes, Backyard Cinema provides a different sort of film screening, letting you watch movies in vibrant settings that transport you around the world.

Backyard Cinema started out by creating immersive productions around beloved films, with its most famous one probably being Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, set in a candlelit Union Chapel and featuring a live choir soundtrack. The team’s first permanent site is located at the iconic Capital Studios in Wandsworth and features two movie theatres, where you can watch the latest releases and classic favourites in detailed indoor settings. These might include a full-on Miami beach with bean bags on sand and a beach bar during summer, or an airplane cabin that lands you on a sunny Los Angeles boardwalk. In addition to your movie of choice, there’s other entertainment and live performances courtesy of the staff as well.

The Wandsworth venue also includes a food court with street fare such as pizzas and Argentinian sandwiches, not to mention a bar that serves an array of cocktails, beers, wines and spirits. On weekend nights, there’s live music by talented artists in the bar area as well.

The Backyard Cinema venue is also available for private hire, including screenings, parties and immersive events.
