Arcade Tottenham Court Road
The much-maligned Arcade Food Theatre wasn't exactly a failure, though it wasn't really a roaring success, either. Restaurateurs JKS, whose other ventures in the capital include popular places such as Sabor and Berenjak, saw enough potential to completely overhaul the food court and relaunch it as the Arcade Food Hall.
It's still primarily a food court, of course, but the hasty production line vibe of trays, buzzers and clean furnishings has been replaced with a more relaxed, even comfortable atmosphere of plush sofas, warm wood and a more personal touch. The trendiness almost seems antithetical to the typical utilitarian convenience of such markets, but who's complaining?
"Out with the old, in with the new" was diligently applied to the vendors as well. The updated roster skews towards street food, including the likes of Indian, Nepalese, Thai, Indonesian, shawarma … And with no restrictions on seating, even larger groups can find something for everyone without hassle. The Sushi Kamon kitchen even offers a bookable omakase experience for those looking for something a little out of the ordinary when it comes to food courts. For livelier crowds, there's a DJ on call and spaces available for private hire, including a retro-leaning Games Room with a pool table.
