On the surface it’s charming, but watch out, these people are as tricky as you can be. They say one price but charge you another. You say you want a K, they give you 800 g but charge you for a K. No more veggies and fruit from these assh*les.

Being located where it is, you’d expect some decency. At Ture’s, that’s a mistake.

My moules frites were ok, but only that. My partner got a long dark hair in his fish soup. He’s bald and I’m blonde so it was from neither of us. When we finally managed to get the attention of the waitress (she was mostly busy checking herself out in any reflecting surface she happened to pass) my partner kindly notified her about the hair and simply asked if he could have his soup replaced. She pondered on her reply for a second or two before arrogantly bursting out: “It could be your own hair!” A few seconds later it dawned on the young lady that she was speaking to a man with no hair. In an act of some kind of defiance she grabbed the bowl and didn’t return until ten minutes later with a new bowl of soup - this time admirably free from hair but not much warmer than her own attitude. My partner and I finished, giggling about the incident. And every time the waitress passed she gave us a dark-eyed glare before checking herself out again in the steely espresso machine next to where we sat. As we finally succeeded in getting her attention one last time, this time to pay, she handed over the check implying we tip her.

This occurred on my last visit to Ture’s. Previous visits have not been as mind-blowingly unpleasant. But surprisingly often the staff’s attitude has left me with a pretty bad taste in my mouth. It’s a shame really. I don’t believe I’ll spank myself by going there again.

Ok falafel. Rude attitude. Spend your money elsewhere, for instance at Falafelbaren not too far away.

Four stars, but in the fast food review section.

A nice touch of the Middle East which somehow manages to mute the noise from not so cheerful Hornsgatan outside. The chickpea balls are way above those you get at your average kabab Joint around the corner. At Falafelbaren they come with the real touch, as if made in Ramallah or Samarra. They come with red cabbage, hummus and pickled stuff that really do the work.

The flip side: it’s overpriced. However tasty, it’s falafels after all.

Being American-Swedish I’ve never understood why people go to Starbucks. I do it myself every five years or so, just to check if it’s still the same old junk or if they by any chance have made an effort to improve. It’s always a huge disappointment. The coffee is awful, the pastries and sandwiches seem to have rolled directly off the industrial conveyor belt, the whole atmosphere is utterly impersonal and the young and underpaid staff rarely makes anything to cheer you up. Spend your
money elsewhere. Starbucks is f**king rock bottom.

This ambitious salad restaurant on NK’s top floor makes me happy for the most part. Healthy salads filling a hungry belly without emptying the wallet.

The Umami bomb has long been a favorite of mine, but the menu is regularly updated with new and exciting flavors. Commodities are always fresh and beautifully served. Service is mostly amicable.

I can’t help but loving when people have ambitions and live up to them. I’ve been here on a number of occasions and never have I been the least disappointed. Not upscale and expensive, but leisure elegant indeed and price worthy.

I’m a huge fan of everything aquatic, in particular if it’s edible, and I’m pretty picky when it comes to fish. The Fishery always delivers. The crispy cod is to die for, and other dishes as well. The food is always made with lots of care and love, it’s beautifully served by a knowledgeable and friendly staff in tasteful settings.

I simply can’t see a flip side to this coin. Great ambitions, extraordinary implementation. Bravo.

Dull, artificial and industrial-made ice-cream scooped and served with an attitude as sour as a bad lemon sorbet. In a time when decent gelato can be found practically anywhere in Stockholm, a place like this is counting down to its own funeral. The only mitigating factor here is the location.

Molto bene! Caffé perfetto, nice sandwiches and sweets to go with it. I only have one question. Why do some places, like this, expect you to tip them when they offer only over-the-counter-service? It beats me.

I don’t know what I like the most; their delicious wurst menu or the happy-go-lucky staff. The mix makes my brains splash from serotonin. Try’em out!
