Where to celebrate New Year's Eve in Gothenburg

La Gondola Trattoria has been around since the 70s making it the city's oldest Italian restaurant. They serve an Italian interpretation of classic New Year's flavours, lobster soup with parmesan sticks, panzotti with shellfish sauce, fillet of beef and tiramisu ice cream. The menu can also be ordered vegetarian. A similar concept applies at their sister restaurant, La Piccola Gondola in Stora Saluhallen indoor food market, where you can watch the New Year's revellers on crowded Kungstorget.

With a view of the Älvsborg Bridge and the open sea, Brasserie Waterfront is a popular hangout on New Year's Eve, with fantastic views of the fireworks. Seafood is something of a specialty here so you can expect it to play a part on their New Year dinner menu. The New Year's package includes a glass of fizz as an aperitif, a four-course New Year's dinner and overnight stay with a large breakfast buffet.
