Liseberg's new hotel, worth a visit in itself! Lavish, innovative and exciting. We enter through the entrance and are greeted by a slide that comes down from the second floor, a carousel that was originally in use inside the amusement park and children's very children. In addition, we are welcomed by a whole committee that directs us up to the eighth floor. Once up on the terrace, we are struck by the incredible view of Liseberg and Gothenburg. The one I'm also thinking about is how people should fit, because it feels somewhat small. We are then guided into the restaurant which is authentically decorated, and in honor of the day we are placed at a large panoramic window where the sun shines straight in - something that will make the temperature authentic (I wonder how it will be this summer if it was already too hot ....). We start with tuna tartare, beef tataki, zucchini and oysters. The oysters were meaty and tasty, and were served with a dressing I ate with a spoon.... YUM! The steak was really good, although it was exactly the same as the zucchini, a little acid, a little mayo, but very good. The tuna really hit home with me with its balance of crunch, cream and acidity! We then ordered a flight with three different kinds of BAI, a Chinese clear liquor. The nice and knowledgeable waiter gives us a lesson in different kinds of become, and how they differ between the different parts of the country, very interesting! Then comes the main course, where I took whole grilled mackerel. Good, but somewhat dry, and you had to order accessories in addition. I ordered green vegetables, as I was a little full after all the mayo, but then got vegetables that were literally cooked in oil. Fat usually makes things tastier, but here it was definitely superfluous. One of the party brought in pork belly which was slightly dry, but good in taste. It also served chicken and shrimp, which received the highest rating. Chicken bang bang was the most child-friendly dish, and also offered exciting flavors, even though it wasn't my favorite. Summa sumarum, Mei Rose is really worth a visit, where the friendly staff and different environment compensate for the food that does not quite reach full pot!
