Where to find Gothenburg's best breakfast

The award-winning Da Matteo chain boasts own-roasted coffee and delicious pastries from their own bakery. If you need to start the day with an early breakfast meeting, this is a stylish place to meet up. Breakfast can be eaten al fresco in the courtyard.

An extensive breakfast buffet is laid out every weekend at Evas Paley. It's served between 9am and midday and you can choose between three different sizes. Enjoy homebaked bread and own-pressed juices. The large outdoor serving area is a great place to start the day during the summer months.

Bar Italia serves Italian delicacies for breakfast, lunch and dinner, always made with fresh ingredients. Indulge in both sweet and savoury dishes such as sandwiches with mozzarella and tomato, cannolis and yoghurt with berries, accompanied, naturally, by a steaming hot espresso.

If you find yourself on Munkebäckstorget and smell the aroma of freshly baked cakes and pastries, there's a good chance that you're getting close to Portens Bageri.
