Quite a difficult grade to put. Only been here once and eaten a shrimp sandwich for lunch. The bread and shrimp were 5 out of 5, but otherwise I think you live on old merits.
First of all, it is really expensive. I am used to Stockholm prices and am in shock at how low lunch prices generally are in Gothenburg. But at Avalon you know how to charge. 179 SEK costs today's. Then coffee is not even included. The shrimp sandwich costs 245 kr. Bubble water nowadays tends to come "soda streamed" unlimited in decanter in most places; Something I appreciate because I like to drink a lot of water when I eat. At Avalon you get a Ramlösa in 33 cl plastic bottle for 39 kr. If they are going to charge SEK 39 (for lunch), they can at least serve it in a glass bottle. And a small paper napkin?! With those prices... Not okay.
Otherwise, I think the quality faltered. The tomatoes also did not feel like luxury lunch quality (as the prices indicate), the mayonnaise I find very difficult to see was home-made and the egg I think was a bit overcooked. The service was approved, absolutely no more.
With that said, the shrimp sandwich was very good, but there are many areas to work on for Avalon if you want to get up to the same level as the prices.
