I need to apologize. Forgive me, anything in the world that is gluten-free. Forgive me for all the times I've made fun of yourself at your expense but I didn't know any better! I realized that today when Happy Atelier not only stood for the best gluten-free pastry I've ever eaten, but also one of the best buns I've ever eaten.
It was on the staff's recommendation that I chose the cinnamon bun. "People like it and it's my personal favorite," said the woman behind the counter with a smile - and what a cinnamon bun it was. The dough is as crispy on the outside and soft and airy inside as gluten-free can be and even though it is noticeable that the dough is just a gluten-free dough, I don't think it detracts from the overall impression almost at all. The filling is fantastic both in texture and taste. It's smooth but firm, sweet from the sugar but clearly spicy from the cinnamon and very generously portioned. A work of art for a lump of dough!!
Otherwise, it was a joy to stay at the small bakery. It's small, cramped, cozy, homely and personal. The woman sitting at the back of the room (behind a desk even further behind the checkout counter) with a phone squeezed between her ear and shoulder mimes "sorry.." while pausing her notes to wave another person on staff to help me. She didn't have to apologize for whatever she was doing, but she did it anyway, a typical example of a small and seemingly insignificant detail that makes a big difference for me as a guest. Very neat!
The selection of pastries is not the largest but still feels exciting, I could definitely have ordered one of everything out of pure curiosity. Plus for two whole vegan options! The prices feel reasonable.
So, a great experience from start to finish! I hope everything gluten-free can receive my apology and that I can come back many, many times in the future. It's big to ask for forgiveness, bigger to forgive and biggest of all - that's Happy Atelier among Stockholm's gluten-free bakeries!

By far the best glutenfree bakery in Stockholm. A big variety of delicious bread, my favorite is the sourdough bread. Furthermore you should check out the baguette which is to die for. They also have a diverse selection of sweet backed goods, especially the little mandelkaka are extremely addictive. Also the personal is extremely nice and makes each visit a pleasant experience.

Bought semla, good cream and good almond paste but lousy bread. The bread is dry, hard and tasteless. A dry boring little bun. Strange that day-spherical bread can be so dull.
