Elegant art nouveau
The design hotel Miss Clara is housed in a former girls' school from the last turn of the century and the building has beautiful art nouveau features. The architect Gert Wingårdh and his team have done a fine job of preserving its heritage, combining original features with timeless natural materials. The hotel also has popular restaurants Miss Clara and Giro.
Surrounded by theatres, the Hotel Grand Central is perfectly located for a cultural visit. New York vibes and the world of music, film and theatre set the scene at Scandic's signature hotel. As well as cultural experiences, the hotel is also within easy walking distance of Central station and Hötorget.
With 558 rooms, the Clarion Hotel Sign on Norra Bantorget is one of Stockholm's largest hotels. Inside you'll find Scandiavian design classics by designers such as Arne Jacobsen, Bruno Mathsson and Alvar Aalto, and on the rooftop there's the Selma City Spa with a heated outdoor pool and fabulous views over the rooftops of Stockholm. Marcus Samuelsson's Kitchen & Table restaurant is on the ground floor.
Five star luxury on Brunkebergstorg
Did you know that during the 19th century Brunkebergstorg was lined with the fashionable homes of Stockholm high society? The square has recently undergone a facelift and the exclusive design hotel At Six has moved in. The hotel's five stars are reflected in everything from the sophisticated interiors, by London-based Universal Design Studio, to the standards of service.
The jewel in the crown
It's no coincidence that international superstars tend to stay at the Grand Hôtel when they come to Stockholm - the hotel is jewel in the crown among the city's hotels. The five star hotel has been welcoming guests since 1874 and provides everything you would expect from a hotel of this calibre.
Urban and creative
Would you like to stay at a hotel that promotes creativity and community? Scandic's signature hotel Downtown Camper on Brunkebergstorg gets its inspiration from both urban and natural environments. There are 494 hotel rooms in varying sizes - from smaller rooms to suites - as well as the back-to-nature hotel restaurant Campfire and innovative meeting rooms.
By Berzelii park
The legendary Berns salonger include a restaurant, nightclub and hotel. The latter is classed as a boutique hotel and several of the stylish rooms have French balconies. Most of what Stockholm has to offer is within easy reach.
Modern luxury in historic packaging
The luxurious Nobis hotel is housed in two 19th century buildings on Norrmalmstorg. The design trio Claesson Koivisto Rune are responsible for the elegant decor and the hotel makees a great starting point for anyone wanting to treat themselves to a day or two in the capital thanks to its proximity to Nybrokajen and the smartest shopping streets in the city.
The first hotel from the Stureplan restaurant group is housed in a beautiful old bank building on Blasieholmen. There's a restaurant and three bars, including one with two terraces on the hotel roof. The entire hotel oozes luxury and the central location makes it perfect for anyone who wants to stay right at the heart of things.
Intimate on the waterfront
Directly opposite the Royal Palace on the historic island of Blasieholmen you'll find the Lydmar. The hotel is famous for its art exhibitions, live music performances and relaxed atmosphere, and, naturally, for its location right by the water. If the weather's fine you can either sit outside on the patio outside the hotel entrance or on the terrace one flight up.
A green oasis
If you're looking for an oasis of green and calm in the heart of the city, the island of Skeppsholmen and this hotel of the same name are a hot tip. The hotel is housed a historic building from the late 17th century and, like its sister hotel Nobis, the interiors were designed by architect team Claesson Koivisto Rune. Greenery, museums and the entrance to Stockholm harbour are all literally just around the corner.
Turn of the century grandeur
A magnificent facade clad in green creepers, an impressive tower building and steamships outside - the classic Radisson Blu Strand Hotel certainly attracts attention. The hotel was built in 1912 and was respectfully renovated in 2017. Several film stars have spent their stays in Stockholm here over the years and plenty of locals are regulars too.
Scandic's Twenties-inspired signature hotel Haymarket is in the former PUB department store building in the middle of Hötorget. Greta Garbo worked there at one time and the film star has provided inspiration for the glamorous art deco interiors and the general atmosphere. With a restaurant, bar, café and regular events, the hotel is a lively meeting place for Stockholmers and visitors alike.
Art in the lobby
The design hotel Nordic Light on Vasagatan boasts an organic breakfast buffet and a collaboration with artists who use the hotel lobby as their studio. A Scandinavian city centre hotel a stone's throw from the central train station.
Cool, urban and very central - could be the best way to summarise Hobo on Brunkebergstorg. Since the square was given a recent facelift, this central but slightly tucked-away part of the city has become extremely happening. Hobo's interiors were designed by the same design team as several hyped hotels in Berlin and the hip yet relaxed atmosphere oozes Berlin-style cool.
Personal and award-winning
Surrounded by major chain hotels, Freys Hotel remains true and steady on Bryggargatan, a little side street off Vasagatan. The hotel aims to provide an oasis of calm in the city centre, whether you're attending a conference, travelling for business or for pleasure. Their individually-decorated hotel rooms are really appreciated by guests - so much so that Freys won Tripadvisor's Travellers’ Choice 2022.
Live like a king in Kungsträdgården
Hotel Kungsträdgården offers a unique and regal hotel stay right next to Kungsträdgården park in central Stockholm. The Gustavian building was built in the 18th century and has been carefully renovated to function as a modern hotel.
