Visiting flea markets (or "loppisar") isn't just an enjoyable way to spend the day, it's also a climate-friendly and personal way to buy and sell your things. So clear out your cupboards and wardrobes at home and earn some extra cash into the bargain. If you're on the hunt for interesting, unique treasures, flea markets are the perfect place to look. The best flea markets in Stockholm

Flea market in Hötorget

In the heart of the city

The bargain bonanza in Hötorget is held (almost) every Sunday all year round. You can't miss this loppis - it fills the square which is normally an open-air marketplace selling fruit, vegetables and flowers. If you plan on selling here, make sure you book in early as spots are seasonal.

  • Time: 10am-4pm all year round

Hornstulls Marknad

April to September

Between April and September you can bag some classic bargains at at Hornstulls Market. You'll find jewellery, vintage fashion, antiquities, art and masses of other treasures sold from stalls along the waterfront. There are also several food trucks, serving up a wonderful mix of streetfood. The market is open on Saturdays and Sundays - whatever the weather.

  • Time: Saturdays and Sundays midday-5pm 

Loppis Karlaplan

Teeming market on the roundabout

This busy loppis right in the middle of Karlaplan is open on Saturdays in summer and autumn. Anyone can sell their wares here - you'll find handmade, artisan products as well as no-longer-needed clothes and other things. Shopping at flea markets is great for the environment and it's also great fun strolling around the stalls hunting for hidden treasures and bagging one-off bargains.

Hågelbyparken

South Stockholm's largest car boot sale

Hågelby loppis is south Stockholm's car boot sale. Several hundred sellers and thousands of bargain-hungry shoppers gather in Hågelby park in Tumba on summer days. Hunt for treasure among countless unique, fun and practical items.

  • When: June until October 
  • Time: Saturdays 11am-3pm

Täby car boot sale

Countryside car boot sale

Out in the countryside, just 10 minutes by car from Täby Centrum, Täby car boot sale is held from June to October. Masses of cars park out in the fields with their boots filled with bric a brac and hidden treasures. Grab a hot dog or coffee when you need a break.

Roslagstoppet

Car boot sale in Roslagen

Roslagsstoppet Loppis is a popular flea market at Roslagsstoppet, a service area just off the E18 motorway close to Norrtälje. You can find everything from smaller items of furniture, clothes, toys, books and collectors items to household items and decorations here, depending on what the vendors have with them.

Solvalla Loppis

Beat the world record in 2016

Solvalla Loppis is a drive-in car boot sale in west Stockholm, between Bromma and Sundbyberg, which attracts masses of visitors each year. Wander around and enjoy the atmosphere, bag a bargain or sell some of your own stuff. The loppis beat the world record for number of cars in 2016, when some 1,024 car boots were open for business inside Solvalla racetrack.
