Family-owned Kennys Gelato serves up a wide selection of gelato made fresh every day, with everything from classic flavours such as pistachio and chocolate to more experimental flavours behind the counter, along with vegan gelato and sorbets. Kennys Gelato is run by master ice cream maker Kenny Mattson, who has won several prizes for his gelato, including Ice Cream Maker of the Year at the Swedish Ice Cream Championships in 2022.
Every morning the team makes twelve gelato and sorbet flavours, several of which have won prizes in ice cream competitions. There's always something to suit all tastes, but some of their most popular flavours are Markoolio's hazelnut with pistachio and salted caramel, Pernilla Wahlgren's lemon pie, Sofia Wistam's wild strawberry and prosecco sorbet and Siciliana supreme. And if you happen to drop by on a day they're serving burnt butter and Kinder egg flavour, you should definitely try this big seller. At Kennys they want everyone to be able to enjoy really good ice cream, so they always have at least two sorbets for anyone who is vegan or wants to eat gluten- and lactose-free.
You'll find this branch of Kennys Gelato along the waterfront promenade on Djurgården, in between Spritmuseum and The Viking Museum. Get here by public transport, your own boat or the horses of the apocalypse. Grab your ice cream and take a seat on a bench or on the quayside and enjoy the sea breezes.

Kenny's Gelato Djurgården!
A small kiosk on Djurgården that you walk past if you walk from Gröna Lund and along the water towards Djurgårdsbron and the city. It is located between the Wreck Museum and the Spirits Museum and as I understand it also has an associated mini golf course (which we did not try). There are no dedicated seating but the location is right on the quay overlooking the small marina. So if the weather is decent, it is perfect to sit and look out over the boats.
I'm not an overly big ice cream fan but I often try my way through the lemon sorbet range wherever in Stockholm, Sweden or the world I am. Kenny's Gelato didn't have a sorbet with pure lemon flavor but offered a lemon and ginger sorbet that was really awesome. Fresh, sour and a really good bite from the Ginger. Would have loved to have taken another scoop! My party chose the licorice ice cream and was also very happy with it.
I don't think I'll go out to Djurgården just to go here. But I like to explore Djurgården in general so we will surely go back here!
