Surrounded by lush greenery, this organic café, which opened in 2001, is a popular destination during summer and autumn. Previously the home to artist Olle Nyman, the quaint farmhouse is located merely 20 minutes from the city.
Koloni is a picturesque retreat, open from April to October serving organic food, homemade pastries and Fair Trade wine, catering to locals and tourists alike. Guests can choose to sit either outside or indoors framed by flowers and greenery. The Mediterranean-inspired, seasonal menu is updated monthly and offers hot dishes, salads, pies, sourdough sandwiches, soups and tapas.
Koloni is particularly famous for its sumptuous cake buffet with pies, pastries and buns - to be savoured, ideally, under a blossoming apple tree. At Olle Nyman's adjacent studio the works of other Swedish artists are exhibited. Select a work of art to take home with you, purchase homemade delicacies from the café and top it off with a swim in the Duvnäs bay.
The café is open during weekends in October and November, serving amongst other indulgences, fondue. From the first weekend of Advent, Koloni’s popular, organic Christmas buffet with multiple vegetarian options is served. Koloni also offers catering for weddings, private and corporate events.
