Restaurateur pair Nidal Kersh and Jenny Hedström run the celebrated Falafelbaren on Hornsgatan which often attracts queues during the lunchtime rush hour. Pita, on the other side of Södermalm, is their second concept, serving Palestinian streetfood in the form of homebaked pita bread with rich stews. The premises are small, but if there's nowhere to sit you can always order your food to go.

Pita makes new stews from scratch every day, served in their slow-proved homebaked bread. The menu includes stews, dips and other dishes inspired by Palestinian cuisine. Shawarma-spiced slow-cooked lamb with tahini yoghurt sauce, sumak and za'tar, tuna dip with shatta chili from Gaza and grilled aubergine and chickpea musaka'a are just a few examples of dishes you'll find on the menu.

Traditional accompaniments includes sumak onions, pickled vegetables, mint yoghurt, tahini sauce and fresh parsley. There are always several vegetarian and vegan dishes in addition to meat, fish and chicken ones.

Come by for lunch or dinner - or whenever you're hungry during the day. The restaurant is on Götgatan, just a stone's throw from the crossroads with Skanstull. You're welcome to grab a pita on the run, or stay and eat and enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your food.
