The emphasis at Adams Smokehouse is on meat in general, and smoked, slow-cooked meat in particular. The restaurant has fast become a real regulars' haunt, where guests come as much for the food as to hang out in the leafy outdoor dining area.
At the helm is Adam Mahdi, a chef whose passion for grilled meat and travelling all over the world has resulted in this smokehouse, which he designed himself. Culinary inspiration comes from the Palestine of his childhood, working in restaurants in Dubai and Egypt and travels to places such as Doha, Istanbul, Sarajevo and Albania.
The meat, which is exclusively Swedish lamb and beef, is seasoned, smoked and cooked for 10-16 hours. It's then served with Southern sides such as fried potatoes, or Persian rice, a well as dips and sauces inspired by the Mediterranean.
Inside the restaurant the walls are covered in drawings of celebrities designed by Adam himself. The interiors consist of tables and a large bar made from cross sections of tree trunks. During the warmer months the large outdoor dining area on Sankt Eriksgatan draws in both passers-by and regulars.
