Downstairs in an odd room you will find this spartan decorated restaurant, at first you are greeted by a large counter with lots of different types of cider. Where you could sit and look out. Immediately asked if we could change seats but not it was apparently fully booked. The bar area had room for four so thought it might be booked for four but after about 45 minutes they fell in a couple who had to sit there and the other two seats were "free" our whole dinner. It chafes a little in the eye.

The menu is small about 10 small / medium dishes, then a dessert. We (2p) ordered 5-6 dishes and on this was quite okay measured. I really missed a drinks menu, this to be able to read what different types of cider there were and other drinks. My favorite was the Jerusalem artichokes with crème fraiche and rum. Thin beef was also good. May think it gets a bit crazy when the dumplings are so oily that you are recommended by the staff to divide them and pour in the sauce and not dip. However, worth the trouble.
